No third-country-origin vehicle of any type may be imported into Bhutan without an import license from the Royal Government of Bhutan -- unauthorized vehicles are confiscated without notice. Strictly restricted (import-permit-gated): arms/ammunition/explosives/military stores, drugs/pharmaceuticals, used and second-hand goods/machinery/equipment, gold/silver beyond the free baggage allowance, live animals and their products, plants/plant materials, and chemicals/fertilizers. Fully prohibited: narcotics/psychotropic substances, pornographic materials, and antiques.
