Import requirements & restrictions

  • Import licensing required

Statutory Instrument 59 of 2026 (Control of Goods (Import and Export) (Commerce) (Amendment) Regulations, 2026, effective 25 March 2026) significantly expanded the list of goods requiring an import license in Zimbabwe, including live poultry, various food/pharmaceutical products, and restricted second-hand vehicles. Separately, a longer-standing list requires special government permission for goods including arms/ammunition, precious/semi-precious gems and jewelry, skin-lightening products, and secondhand clothes intended for resale. The full current list was not enumerated in this pass -- check ZimLII's SI 59/2026 text for a specific product.
