Import requirements & restrictions

  • Pre-shipment inspection required

Import shipments into Cameroon with FOB value >= 2,000,000 FCFA require the Programme de Vérification des Importations (PVI) -- a mandatory value and HS-classification verification (not a product-safety conformity check) run by SGS on the state's behalf. The importer submits a request for an Attestation of Verification to Import (AVI) to SGS by manifest validation; SGS issues a Rapport sur la Valeur et le Classement tarifaire (RVC), transmitted electronically to customs, required to file the detailed declaration.
