Import requirements & restrictions

  • Import licensing required

San Marino has its own EU customs union agreement (the Cooperation and Customs Union agreement, originally 1991) distinct from Andorra's or Monaco's -- goods originating in San Marino avoid the EU's Common External Tariff when entering any EU member state. This trade-status benefit is separate from product certification: ALL goods sold in San Marino, regardless of origin, must still independently meet EU standards (CE marking, IEC, etc.) before being legally marketed.
