Guyana removed its 8-year used-vehicle age limit effective 1 October 2020 -- there is now no maximum age restriction for passenger vehicles, and both right-hand-drive and left-hand-drive vehicles are permitted. Commercial small trucks (up to 3 tons) must still be under 4 years old. Since February 2025, a pre-shipment inspection certificate from an authorised agency is required for all used-vehicle imports. All vehicle entries are processed through the Guyana Revenue Authority's TRIPS system.
