Import licensing required
2,000+ product categories (electronics, automotive, food/beverage, environmental-protection-related goods, and more) must comply with a Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM) before import into Mexico; the applicable NOM is determined by the product's tariff classification (fracción arancelaria). Certain NOMs additionally require a certificate of compliance from an accredited certification body, held by the importer of record.
