• Import prohibited

  Import of used vehicles older than 8 years is prohibited into Mauritania. For used cars, the Argus (French trade-in valuation guide) minimum import value is used for customs valuation purposes.

• Import prohibited

  Import into Mauritania is prohibited for alcoholic drinks, pork, and sexually explicit material (Islamic law), and, under Article 157 of the Customs Code, for narcotic drugs/psychotropic substances and pornographic writings/materials contrary to morality. Import of firearms requires a special license.
