• Import licensing required

  Importers into Kuwait must hold an import license from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and register with the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Covered products additionally require pre-shipment testing/certification under Kuwait's International Conformity Certification Program (ICCP, in force since March 2003) by a single designated private certification company. Imported toys specifically require the GSO (GCC Standardization Organization) seal, mandated since 2011.

• Import prohibited

  Import into Kuwait is prohibited for alcoholic beverages (non-alcoholic beer up to 0.05% alcohol is permitted), pork and pork products, gambling machines, pornographic materials, and narcotics. Used automobiles over 5 years old and used medical equipment generally cannot be imported. Firearms and explosives require special import procedures (Ministry of Interior approval).
